Charlene Jimenez Robles

About me

I’m a educational psychologist and psychotherapist , with over 8 years of experience of study, research and practice with clients from around the world.

I am chartered and registered with numerous professional bodies, including The British Psychological Society (BPS) and the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

My clients are central to my work, and my practice was born from the desire to help people to feel fulfilled, empowered and happy in their lives, wherever they are and whatever they are doing.

I believe that there is no universal approach to therapy. I build tailored, high quality sessions specifically for each client, to reflect his or her individual personality and needs.

I am passionate about my work and strongly believe that therapy can bring positive change and improvement to people’s lives. We are all vulnerable in today’s stressful world; it is not uncommon to feel lost or confused from time to time, or to experience symptoms, unhelpful behaviours or a lack of confidence. These are things that we all go through.

The important thing to remember is that you are not alone. Talking with a professional can provide concrete help and support, as well as short and long-term relief from issues or problems you are facing.

Choosing the right treatment can be a challenge. All of my clients have different needs and goals, and I specialize in responding to their unique situations, by developing individually tailored programmes of therapy for each and every one of them.

To help you achieve your goals. I draw from my experience in Mindfulness, Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) MBCT Mindfulness Stress Reduction MBSR. Anxiety Management IAOTH .Dialectical Behaviour Therapy DBT.Psychology Therapy of Addictions IAOTH A.Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Psychodynamic Therapy, to provide a rounded and holistic approach which is unique to you.

Through personalized sessions, I will support your path in becoming more aware of how you think, feel and act in the present moment; I provide insight into ways in which you can overcome any unfinished business in order to live at your full potential.

My approach will enable you to be fully involved in every step of the therapy process, and to feel truly engaged in every step you take towards your happiness. I am very clear in explaining to my clients what I offer and how I work. Most importantly, feedback from my clients is invaluable to me, and I will ask you for your views and opinions throughout the journey we take together. It is thanks to the feedback of my past and present clients that I have been able to further strengthen and tailor my approach for the future.

I value the importance of a therapeutic relationship and I base my relationships with clients on trust and partnership. Thanks to my extensive experience, I am able to provide a safe and non-judgmental environment where you can feel acknowledged, listened to and supported.

I specialise in working with successful, busy, and international individuals. I am able to accommodate specific needs and understand the demands of a hectic and stressful lifestyle. I offer approach with strongly value discretion, privacy and confidentiality.

Initial consultation

If you are considering therapy but you are uncertain of the methods and results, I offer a free 20 minute enquiry call in order to speak about your presenting issues and any questions you may have concerning therapy.

When we start working together, our first session will be an initial consultation. I will deeply explore your current issues with you, enquire about your background and work to establish which type of therapy I think would be most suited to you.

I will assess your specific needs and we can set goals for treatment. I will also explain more extensively how I work and you will have the chance to ask questions to decide whether you would like to start therapy with me.

We will also discuss the options available to you, from long-term therapy to short-term counselling. From our conversation I will help you to understand which type of treatment would suit you the most. You will leave the room with no uncertainty but with a clear idea of what you can expect from our work together.

Duration and frequency of sessionsI usually see my clients once a week for 50 minutes. I am flexible and can accommodate my clients’ needs; depending on your schedule we may want to meet more or less frequently than this (if clinically appropriate), or you may sometimes want to come for longer sessions.

The type, frequency and duration of your treatment will be discussed at the initial consultation and will be revisited in due course.

I also offer sessions via zoom or telephone. This is something that we would also discuss during our initial consultation.
I tend to meet my clients at the same day and time every week – it’s very important to attend therapy with regularity in order to get results; protecting some space in your diary makes this easier to achieve.

While it is important to try and attend regular weekly sessions,

I understand that may be times when this is not possible and I am happy to be flexible and work around these times with you.
